Brighton Beach

When I envisaged my summer GBL accessories being shot on Brighton beach I didn’t quite image torrential rain in April but that’s Britain for you. George & I,  my good friend & photographer (for the day) found a beautiful band stand on the front not far from ‘British Airways i360' we found shelter from the wind/rain by standing directly in the middle which seemed to work until we both felt frost bite seep in, haha!

Using this location we began to shoot the below accessories and I think you'll agree this spot adds the perfect backdrop

I've created a new beach charm for SS18 which I've styled in these pictures around my ponytail, on my bag and wrapped around my straw beach hat. It’s made from silk satin with a vintage dotty material and matching pom-pom strands.

I wore the ‘Frenchie Beach Charm’ with a khaki linen wrap jacket which had a Japanese feel to it which I tied up at the front in a knot. I teamed that with some vintage frayed jeans & a peach coloured long sleeve t-shirt and suede tan pull on boots. I specifically choose these items as they compliment my accessories and colour palette - I will look to be styling this charm with an occasion outfit in another post showing its versatility from day to night.

If you are new to my GBL website, you may not know about some of my past designs. One being the ‘Alice Bangle’ which I’m wearing here stacked with the 'Alexia Stripe Bangles'. This bangle was the first bangle I designed and sent to PR houses in hope they would feature in their magazines. With a stroke of luck Marie Claire magazine did exactly that they featured the 'Alice Bangle' alongside 2 other styles in the ‘A-Z hottest designers on the block’ from that I landed myself a place on the accessories scene.

I've decided it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bring this style back in a new grosgrain fabric which matches the rope detail really well. 'Alice' will also come in more colours as I grow my collections but for now the butter cream colour is available to buy online and you can send me bespoke design requests if you want it to match an outfit.

So you know its all about the round raffia bag this season, well if you didn't you do now!

It started on the catwalk and as trends always trickle down to the high street, this one is about to go big. My favourite is this Zara round version with wooden small handles plus a long shoulder strap. Its the perfect shape for my charm accessories as they can be easily tied to any handle with its simple satin skinny fastening. I added the matching wide brim hat as, one its perfect to feel shaded on a warm sunny day & secondly my charms hang elegantly off the back for a stunning beach look.

Don't forget to browse my shop to buy any of my accessories mentioned in this post.

Happy shopping guys.
